That old boat that hasn't hit the water in years — the trailer rusting in the back of the yard that you've been meaning to deal with — the jon boat with the rotted transom that became a mosquito breeding ground. Dothan Junk Removal Co. specializes in removing the oversized outdoor items that standard junk removal services won't touch, including old boats and trailers throughout Dothan and the Wiregrass.
We're not a traditional junk removal company for this category — boat and trailer removal requires specific equipment and planning. Call us to discuss your specific situation and we'll tell you honestly if and how we can help.
Types of Boats and Trailers We Remove
- Jon boats and flat-bottom boats — aluminum or fiberglass, non-running
- Bass boats — older models no longer serviceable
- Pontoon boats — de-rigged, non-running (call for assessment)
- Utility and cargo trailers — damaged, rusted, or deregistered
- Boat trailers — with or without a boat on them
- Small watercraft — canoes, kayaks, paddle boats, jet skis
- Small camper trailers and pop-up campers — abandoned or non-functional
"Had a 16-foot aluminum boat and rusted trailer sitting in the yard for 6 years. Finally called Dothan Junk Removal. They assessed it, brought the right equipment, and it was gone by end of day. Should have called years ago." — Dothan homeowner, March 2026
How Boat and Trailer Removal Works
Boat and trailer removal is not a standard junk removal job — we need to assess before committing:
- Phone consultation — tell us about the boat/trailer: size, material, location, access, and condition
- On-site assessment — for larger watercraft, we come out first to assess access and equipment needs
- Firm quote — we provide a firm price based on the actual job requirements
- Scheduled removal — we bring the right equipment and crew for the job
- Haul away — we transport to a licensed disposal facility, scrap yard, or recycling center
Access Considerations
The biggest variable in boat and trailer removal is access. We can work with:
- Boats on trailers with operational trailer lights (we can tow short distances)
- Boats in backyards accessible through a gate (12+ inch clearance needed)
- Boats partially in water at a dock or ramp
- Trailers without tires or with flat tires (may require dollies)
Very large boats (30+ feet), boats in deep sand or mud, or boats with no accessible path to a vehicle will require a specialized marine salvage service. We'll tell you upfront if your job is beyond our scope.
What About Titles and Registration?
For boats and trailers you own, have the title handy if possible — it can facilitate proper transfer to a salvage facility. If you've inherited a boat without a title, call us and we'll discuss your options.

Can you remove a boat that has no motor?
Yes — most of our boat removals are motorless hulls. The motor's absence actually makes things simpler from a fluid-disposal standpoint.
What if the boat is full of water, leaves, and debris?
Common situation. We've dealt with neglected boats many times. We'll assess the condition on-site and quote based on the actual scope of work.
Do you accept boats with fuel still in the tank?
The tank should be emptied before removal when possible. If there's a small amount of old fuel, we can discuss appropriate handling. We cannot transport boats with full fuel tanks.
Can you remove a deregistered trailer with no tires?
Often yes — we use dollies and sliders for trailers that can't roll. Call to describe the situation and we'll tell you what's possible.
